Yes. Well. I like them. They are sweet and soft and the tops of their heads smell better than anything else I have ever smelled in my life.

I have been fascinated by these since I was in high school and happened on a display of them at the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City. When I discovered Orthodox Christianity and found out that they were not a medieval "dead art", but alive and well today, I was very, very excited.
cloth diapering:

My favorite mainstream children's clothing. It stands the test of time. Some articles of Gymboree clothing in this house have been through five or more children and are still going strong. Quality and cuteness. What more can you ask of an article of children's clothing?
indigo girls:
They are poets. I do not agree with most of their politics and have been very disappointed in how "political" their music has become, but they have often expressed things for me that I could never put into words. And they are my adolescence.
my dog:
I do not generally love dogs. I am not a dog person. But *my* dog is totally different story. I did not want a dog. We got one because Brad wanted one. But she has truly been a wonderful friend and was my "baby" for a long time. She is getting a little old and sick now. I am dreading the day...
rain:
Rain makes me peaceful.
spring in texas:
Spring is Texas's redemption. I do not love this state, I'm afraid. Perhaps you have to be born here to love it. But when the bluebonnets and primroses and indian paintbrushes cover the ground here...I call myself a Texan for a few weeks each year.
verandas:
Sitting on a rocking chair, drinking lemonade, fanning myself, chatting with loved ones and listening to my children's laughter...this is what a veranda is. It is a lovely word too.
