The children's Christmas program at church was today. Mari did a great job. She stood up there big as the day and when it was her turn to "recite" she walked to the microphone and announced "We're supposed to be shepherds!" and forgot all her lines. Ms. Dorothy led her through them and she was very proud of herself. Zoe decided, after she got her costume on, that she wanted nothing to do with the silliness and basically hid behind me for the whole thing. Ah well. Santa showed up later and the Luci tried to climb him. She loves Santa Claus so much. I don't know why, we hardly ever talk about him as Santa Claus (though we do talk about St. Nicholas) and they are well aware of the Santa "game", but she just loves him and wants to hug any Santa she sees. Mari was a little freaked out by him until she asked me if he was the "real" Santa and I said "What do you think?" and she answered "I think he is a man dressed like Santa for fun" and I just grinned at her and then she ran up to greet him. Zoe was still hiding, but she did smile at Santa. It was all very cute.

I'm outrageouly tired because I've been sick all week with a horrendous chesty cold thing. I can hardly sleep at night and when I do, I snore so loud Brad has moved into the spare room for the duration. Poor guy. I think I'm on the mend now. I better be because I do not have time this week to mess with being sick. Brad's battalion Christmas party is on Wednesday and I have to make four dozen *decorated* cupcakes for that, Luci's third birthday is Saturday, and we are leaving for Kansas on Sunday afternoon. So I have to clean this house from top to bottom, pack, bake, and do a birthday, not to mention finish some Christmas shopping, all in the next week.

Oy. It makes me ache just thinking about it.
