In about three weeks, Zoe will be four.
In just about two months, Luci will be three.
On Christmas Eve, Mari with be five.
I can't decide on which birthday to cry. I can't decide which one is the most upsetting. Zoe CANNOT be four years old. It feels like a physical impossibility. Luci turning three means the end of babyhood in our house and that makes me sadder than I can put into words. And five? Mari, five years old? That is like...school aged!
Don't worry. Their birthdays will be joyous occasions. If I sneak in some cry time after the festivities, no one will know about it. But I'm seriously beginning to dread fall and winter in our house. Too many birthdays.
'course, we have a bunch of name days to celebrate too (St.Nicholas, St.Lucia, St.Zoe, St.Eugenia), and I can't find anything sad in those. I'll try to just look forward to those.
