Zoe and Luci and I went to Petsmart today while Mari was a preschool to see if they had a guinea pig books and/or guinea pigs at which to look. I just wanted to show the girls a real live guinea pig and see their reaction. They didn't have any guinea pigs so we went to look at fish. Unfortunately for me, right beside the fish tanks was the section with cats up for adoption. Zoe ran to them. I had to follow. On the top row of cat "condos" there was a large, pretty, black and white cat that jumped up as soon as he saw us and ran to the glass. We couldn't hear him, but he was meowing like crazy. He pawed at the glass and gazed adoringly down at Zoe, who was immediately on her tiptoes pressing her hand to his paw. Some of the other cats reacted to our presence, most with disdain, some with interest, but this one just begged us...
His name was Buster. He was 16 mos old, declawed, had lived with a wonderful family who had to give him up when they moved and couldn't take him (I wonder why? At least they didn't just abandon him). My heart is aching for Buster. He wanted us so bad. He wanted us to touch him. He rubbed his face all over the glass. Perhaps it was just coincidence, maybe he was hungry, maybe he just wanted out, but he was gazing at Zoe with total adoration.
I want that cat. I cannot tell you how much. He belongs with us. I have done massive research on introducing a new cat to a resident dog and since Jesse has lived with a cat before, it doesn't sound like it would be that hard if we approached it cautiously and carefully. I'm here all the time so I could do that. Buster belongs to us. He chose Zoe.
How do I convince Brad of this?
