We had another busy and very lovely Saturday. We are trying to do some of the sightseeing things we had planned to do many moons ago, but never got done, before we leave Texas. So today we spent the day in San Marcos. But we didn't outlet shop! I expect lightening to strike me at any moment.

We went to the Aquarena and rode a glass bottom boat for a tour of the springs, went to the little aquarium and took a short walk through the wetlands. We saw lots and lots of fish, plants, turtles, and birds. The girls thought it was wonderful. Quick stop for lunch and then we headed to Wonder World, which is a strange and eclectic and slightly science-based amusement type park built around a cave tour. So we went on the cave tour. Luci fell asleep in my arms in the cave. Imagine navigating slippery, steep, narrow stairs and low hanging rocks with a 32lb dead weight child in your arms, but I'm not even sore! Yay Curves! Then we went to the top of a tower that allowed us an amazing view of the Texas hill country. The tour continued with a stop at a bizarre "anti-gravity" house, a house built at an angle that causes all kinds of interesting optical illlusions. The girls thought it was hilarious to see water run "uphill" and to stand comfortably "leaning backwards". The tour concluded with a tram ride through a small wildlife park, via a tunnel guarded by a waterfall that we drove right under, where we got to feed a bunch of obnoxious deer (ugh that was slimy and I didn't bring any wetwipes!) It was fun and exhausting.

I have a cold and my voice is completely gone. I don't want to lie down for fear I will choke to death. So, I'm staying up too late and will have a dreadful time getting up for Church tomorrow.

And now, the silly picture...the girls at the top of the tower today.
