Aug. 22nd, 2006 05:08 pmMari's Calvert stuff arrived in the mail today. It was fun going through it planning things in my head. I talked to my sister for a few minutes earlier today. Her daughter is starting Kindergarten too and will be going to a charter school, The Classical Academy. Technically, I guess that means it is part of the public school system? I'm so ignorant about so many things. Anyway, she was telling me how much she had spent on uniforms (and just about every public school out there these days has uniforms) and the other "fees" they had to pay. It was at least as much, if not more than I spent on Mari's stuff. I always sort of thought as homeschooling as an expensive option. I guess it really isn't any more expensive than any other schooling option, depending on how you do it. Crazy.
I'm totally torn about other activities for Mari. I'm waiting to hear back from some homeschooling support groups in the area that I've contacted. I definatley want to be involved in one of them. Mari is still interested in learning to play the violin and she has also asked for dance lessons. I don't want to get too busy. So, I told her she had to pick one or the other and now I think that was a mistake because she chose dance and I'm really thinking violin would have been better. But what do I know? Maybe it just doesn't matter right now.
Anyhoo...Brad just called to say he had left work/school and he is stuck in horrible traffic and told me not to wait dinner on him. So I guess I should go ahead and feed my girls.
