Dec. 15th, 2006 10:31 pmI took the girls for haircuts today and the stylist butchered Luci's hair. She did the total opposite of what I asked her to do! AGAIN! So now she will look wierd for all the Christmas pictures. I think I'm going to go back to cutting it myself.
We went to a Christmas party for Brad's small group tonight. We took the kids. I wish we could have found a babysitter, but so far the only babysitter I've come up with is our next door neighbor who is barely sixteen and I don't want to foist Luci at bedtime on her just yet because I really, really like her and would really, really like her to continue to babysit for us for awhile. Anyway, the girls were real troopers for three solid hours. There were several other kids there and they all played in the basement of the house where the party was held. Luci started losing it toward the end, but we managed to leave before total meltdown...that happened on the way home. I think she was seriously allergic to one of their dogs because she was so sniffly and puffy eyed and miserable. Ugh. Next time, I'll bring the Benedryl, I guess. Anyway, everyone is in bed and quiet now.
We have a week to get read to head "home" for Christmas. Yikes! How did that sneak up on me. I have WAY too much to do still!
Tomorrow we plan to go see Santa at the mall. I'm having some angst about Santa. Zoe really BELIEVES in him. I've tried to make sure they knew Santa was a game...but I don't think Zoe gets that. She was very upset with Mari for saying he was pretend the other day. I'm pretty sure Brad wouldn't be happy if I nixxed the Santa visit because of my hang-ups, so we'll go visit Santa and then I have a few things to pick up for stockings. I hope it is a pretty day because I got sidewalk chalk in the silly gift exchange at the party tonight and Luci was NOT happy with me when I wouldn't let her go outside in the dark immediately after we pulled in the driveway and draw with it. I told her tomorrow...so tomorrow better be nice!!
