Jul. 31st, 2007 07:43 amLuci is killing me with her adorableness lately. How she can be getting cuter and more fun as she gets older is amazing to me. It doesn't seem possible. Her cuteness was on the "I can't stand it" side of the spectrum already. But her new abilities to control impulses and her new ways of communicating her wants and needs without screaming make her even more fun to be around. I can TALK to her now. For many months now, we've been able to have somewhat calm discussions about even candy, gum, and her annoyances with her sisters...the things that brought her into instant tantrums a year ago.
I love touching her. I love the feel of her skin. Our bond is still very physical. I treasure it all the more because I feel like I'm losing some of that with Zoe. And I never really had it with Maria. Zoe doesn't snuggle like she used to. She will, but she is not ON me very often anymore, hanging on me, rubbing against me, asking to be near me. She is busy now. Life has opened up for her in the last year. She is moving away from me in subtle, amazing ways that make me excited and sad. Luci isn't going anywhere for awhile, I don't think. Luci still seems to need skin to skin contact. She still hops in the shower with me and wants me to hold her in my arms under the water. She crawls in bed with me and curls into my chest (my entire torso now though she is so big!) She still strokes my arms, and rubs her head against me, and is just...very physical. I will be so sad when she begins to move away from me too. The baby lust may become overpowering at that stage.
Mari and Zoe have now successfully shifted their schedules to WAY TOO EARLY FOR ME! They were both up at 6:45am today! ARG! Less than two week ago they were sleeping until nearly 10am! Where is the happy medium here? This is WAY too early for our trip as it will be 5:45am in Kansas. I don't like this at all.
