Jan. 19th, 2010 12:37 pmReading about my friend Natasha's work in Haiti this week has been really strange for me. I babysat this girl when I was a teenager. And now she is an adult doing truly adult work that I'm not sure I would have the stomach to do myself. She and her entire family are amazing. If you want some on the ground stories from Haiti check out her blog: http://t-raehaiti.blogspot.com/. I've been following her story and work for years, but the earthquake just made things so much more intense, you know? It is so strange to read it and think that little blonde girl whose hair I used to brush and who used to cuddle with me is doing those things. Unbelievable.
We are home from our week in Winter Park. Back to the daily grind. The girls did pretty well on school work today. Maria had the roughest time. She just can't seem to concentrate at all. I think she is still tired. Probably will take a few days to recover. I have no motivation to do anything after supervision of school work. I wish I could just lay around and do nothing. Read a mindless book. But I really can't. I need to unpack and do some research and make some phone calls and...ugh. Must get on that.
Or maybe just a leetle break? Yeah. I think so.
