This is my favorite documentary on Byzantium. Probably my favorite history documentary so far. The whole thing is on youtube now, I'm linking the first installment. Those of my friends fascinated by the Byzantine Empire (and I know you are out there!) should watch it. I've seen it three times now and it never fails to inspire me and break my heart.
