Sep. 8th, 2010 07:58 pmMonday we went hiking (Brad, too) in the mountains. It was lovely. Cool in the morning, warming up in the afternoon, but never hot. It was a fairly intense hike for the girls, a lot of it inclined and somewhat steep. They did fairly well, though we had to push Luci along at the end. She was done...before the trail was. Heh. Somehow we managed to be blissfully unaware of the raging fires just a few miles from where we were hiking.
Luci had her first dance class yesterday. Insanely cute. It is a REAL dance class, none of this playtime type stuff. Heh. A combo tap/ballet class. She looked so tall and gangly and awkward. She had a growth spurt recently and is really thin and long right now. I alternated between wanting to laugh at her sweet clumsiness and cry over how big and OLD she looks. She made faces at me through the window whenever she glanced my way. Very Luci.
Today was busy, with school in the morning, an afternoon birthday party for a friend, then home just long enough to change clothes and off to Zoe's gymnastics class. Then we met Brad for dinner and the girls went with him for a few hours. First down time I've had all day. Oh and in between all that I dropped the dogs off to get groomed and picked them up. They are sweet smelling and soft and adorable now.
I'm deep into the process of turning my laundry room into the girls closet. This is going to be awesome. It is going to save me SO MUCH time and effort. And the girls rooms, which are all very small, will be so much less crowded and overwhelming once we move toys and stuff into the empty closets. I'm super, duper excited about this. I'm really into taking the path of least effort these days. Taking clothes out of the dryer and turning around to fold and hang them up is definitely the path of least effort. I think Luci will actually be able to handle keeping her room picked up now...I hope anyway. Most of the mess in her room is usually clothes. So yeah, simplify and find the easy way. I'm all about that.
