I woke up to find that love had flown
And left me here
The moment covered in mist
darkness and pain
barely remembered
drowned in a thousand tears

I woke up to find that love was not
that which I thought it was
that true love cannot fly
it has no wings
it is a sedentary thing
that makes a home in a warm place
and stays for lifetimes
and lifetimes more
and the thing that flew from me
in the dark was not love
but only a shadow
