Luci's newest trick.

She loves for me to put her blanky in the dryer and "warm it up". She is obsessed with this. She asks me to do it 20 times a day. And I throw it in for a few minutes whenever I can, but sometimes I just can't do it right then. I can't do it constantly. And it is going to wear her blanky out completely to keep drying it. So a few days ago, I warmed it up a couple of times and then told her we were done for the above reasons and because the dryer is really for wet clothes and stuff. So a few minutes later she brings me her blanky with a huge wet spot.

"Dryer, mommy, warm it up!" she says.
"Why is your blanky wet?" I ask.
"Pee!" says Luci. I then notice that she has no pants on. She frequently doesn't as she loves to strip and is naked most of the time. I sniff the wet spot.

She peed on her blanky. She pulled off her pants and peed on her blanky.

I explained to her that is dirty and now we have to wash her blanky not just dry it and it will take a long time. But she is apparently willing to wait. Because everytime I have said no to "warming up" the blanky she has wandered off and peed on it.

This child is literally going to drive me insane.

Yeah. That is unfortunately the plan at the moment. She has now done it five times. I think I've explained it enough times and allowed the "natural" consequence of having to wait for blanky to take its course. She can have it at nap and bedtime, but the rest of the time blanky will be having some time alone. I think the only other way to prevent her doing it is to tie her to my wrist. I don't think that is allowed...is it?

;)

hehe don't think so, but it sure owuld be nice wouldn't it? :p I have had to make Matthews blankie a bedtime only thing, he was so addicted to it and kept losing it and we would spend hours looking for it so he could sleep! so now he is only allowed to take it out of the house when I know he will have a rough day (ie a doctor appointment) otherwise it stays upstairs near his bed. Its a tough thing to do :( but sometimes its the only way.
