Hair and bad parenting...
Oct. 30th, 2003 06:23 pmI cut my babies' hair today. Mari doesn't look too different because I want to grow hers out long, so I just trimmed it. Zoe, however, had a mop on her head she could barely see thru. Her hair is really curly, so I kinda want to keep it short. It is the kind of curl that falls out into waves with lots of length. Well...I cut it a bit shorter than I intended. She looks remarkably like Shirley Temple now. Which is fine with me because I adore Shirley Temple and have often thought Zoe bore more than a passing resemblence to her. But I felt kinda foolish when Brad came home and his first comment on her hair was "Were you TRYING to make her look like Shirley Temple?" I have a horrible feeling that I treat my children more like dolls than human beings. I spend more time picking out their clothes and doing their hair than fixing their meals. Prob'ly not a good thing. Perhaps I should join that BadParents community I found last night. Brad and I were laughing so hard at the stories other parents posted about their "badness" that we both had tears in our eyes.
