Jul. 10th, 2005 03:51 pmEnded up at Liturgy this morning. My mother did not go to her church because my two year old nephew Liam, who has been struggling with constipation for three days, was so miserable and in so much pain, after two suppositories he still didn't go, so my sister took him to the doctor. Mom stayed with his sister, my neice Bennett. Liam was impacted. How awful does that sound!! Just the word makes me cringe. Anyway, he is fine now, and th girls were so good for me during Liturgy. I haven't done that with all three of them alone in a long time, but they were really good. A year ago, it wasn't doable. It seems to be doable now. I'm soooo glad! It was nice.
Zoe is very out of sorts. She has been replaced in Mari's life by my four year old niece, Bennett. At least it is only temporary as Bennett, Liam, and my sister, Kristin, will be leaving in few days. But poor Zoe is very confused. She is used to being Mari's constant playmate and companion. They are inseparable. People have often joked that they act like twins. They seem to even have an unspoken communication thing going. But Bennett is a wonderful, extremely intelligent, very interesting and empathetic playmate. I wish three wasn't a crowd. I think Bennett would include Zoe more if she could figure out how, but two is just so much easier than three and Zoe gets inadvertantly left behind. She is really feeling it too. Yesterday, we took the kids to McDs for lunch and to play. Zoe climbed to the very top and pretended to be stuck and began sobbing hysterically for help. I was about to go after her when I realized what she was saying..."I want my sister!!" How sad is that? I convinced Mari to go after her, and Bennett, very concerned herself, went too and they rescued Zoe and promptly ran off without her again. I feel for her, I really do. Mari is going to really miss Bennett, but I think Zoe will be very glad to have her sister back!
