Sleep, shopping...and Church
Apr. 1st, 2006 09:45 amI want to sleep. I need to sleep. I have not slept for more than two or three hours for three nights now. I'm really, truly afraid I'm going to go postal on someone soon. When Brad gets home from the Race for the Cure run this morning, I am taking a nap.
I want to shop. We received our April newletter from our Church and in it the priest talks about the ancient tradition of wearing all white to the Paschal Resurrection Service. He encourages us all to revive it. I was excited by the idea as I feel like white would symbolize all kinds of things for me, communally and personally, this year. I don't want to go overboard though, as none of us girls own any white dresses. I checked out Dharma Trading Co though and found simple cotton dresses for very decent prices. With a slip, little white shoes, and white hair bows, I think the girls would look lovely for really cheap in these:

And for me I'm looking at this one: http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3342-AA.shtml?lnav=clothing_women.html.
Maybe I'll add a white shawl or scarf of some kind if I can find an inexpensive one. Only problem is shoes. I own two pairs of shoes that I could wear for a LONG service like the Paschal service...one is a pair of black Birk clogs and one is an ugly pair of traditional Birk sandals. I'll have to buy some white shoes. But I have to buy something I can actually stand up in that long (I'm a total wimp about foot pain.) And that means EXPENSIVE. I'm looking at Danskos, I've wanted some for ages, but I was looking at brown. I don't know how much use I'll get out of white ones. Maybe more than I think. However, $109 for shoes I might or might not get much use out of is...a little over the top. *sigh* Why do good shoes have to be so expensive? Would it be gross to get some nice brown Danskos that I know I will wear a lot and wear them with all white? I'm so fashion illiterate.
I want to go to church. I'm craving it. I missed Presanctified again this week and there is no Vespers tonight as Fr. Dan is out of town. I can't wait for Liturgy tomorrow. I just hope I get to sleep some today so I won't feel as nauseous and weepy as I do today.
