Dec. 31st, 2007 12:32 pmI joined an incredible health club today. It is like Disneyland in there. I think the girls are going to love it. The pool is a zero entry, giant thing with slides indoors and out. The child care center has a huge jungle gym and tons of computers set up with games of every level and a basketball court. They do art projects and games with the kids. And with membership we get two free hours of child care a day. They also have discounted swim lessons, dance lessons, sports classes, everything under the sun. Of course they also have the largest fitness center I've ever seen and more fitness classes than I can count. I get three free hours of trainer time with membership as well as the most comprehensive fitness assessment I've ever seen at a gym (not really looking forward to that part). It is an awesome place. I think I might just live there. Heh.
We still have some organization to do, but our house is totally livable now. Only the master bedroom still has boxes left to be unpacked. The basement is set up as a play/rec/school room, so school will be in session on Wednesday. At least that is the plan. I think I really like this house. Luci is having a much easier time staying in her bed at night than she used to and I think there are several reasons for that. One, she is sharing a room with Zoe now. And two, she can hear me moving around the house, doing dishes, watching TV, whatever. I'm really close all the time in such a small space. They all seem pretty comfortable in their new rooms.
It still feels like we have a lot to do organizing things for Brad to be gone. He seems to want everything to be perfect before he leaves. I understand how he feels about it, but I wish he would relax. I keep telling him we are fine, we'll all be fine, even if towel rings don't get hung up, and we don't get a new kitchen faucet and there are still a few boxes in our closet when he leaves. I can handle that. But...given how badly I handled things last time, I can kinda see why he is so stressed. *sigh*
My entire family is coming over for dinner tonight. My mom and dad, my mom's mom and my dad's mom, and both my sisters and their kids (five kids, not including mine age three to six if you don't count the one gestating in Kristin's womb.) I'm ordering pizza 'cause...yeah...I don't cook. Then the kids are all having a sleepover, though we have not yet determined if it will be here or at my mom's house. We'll ring in the New Year with popcorn and movies and lots of craziness. I'm so glad to be here!
