Busy day today. Church this morning and then we went out to eat, then home and changed clothes quickly to take the girls swimming. That was a lot of fun today. The girls are just so comfortable in the water these days, it is great chasing them all over the pool, catching them, throwing them, dunking them. Luci hangs on my arms screaming, "throw me again!" She pops out of the water and before she even takes a breath she is shrieking "throw me again!" She is hysterical, in her little frog goggles, spluttering and laughing and screaming. Mari has taken to swimming laps around the edge of the pool. She never touches the side, even in the deep end, she just treads water. We just insist she stay near the edge still...parents are such party poopers.

After we got home from swimming, the girls wanted to play outside. Brad and I are learning to play chess (yes, it is pathetic that we didn't know at 33 years old, but it is never too late!), so we set the game up on the front porch and played while the girls ran around with the 11 year old girl next door who is my new favorite person on earth. She is so great. I want to take her with us when we move. Another reason I will be so sad when we leave this place.

Brad wants to play another game of chess. We played ourselves into a stalmate of sorts last time, probably because we are both clueless. So our skill level is about the same and we've already established many times that though we think differently, our intelligence level is about the same too. Haha! I'll let you know what happens this time. I'm sure you're all dying to know!!

Deathly Hallows in five days. I think I might have a fainting spell before then. I've never felt this way about anything ever in my life. It is insane!

I know! I'm about to jump out of my skin! It's 45 minutes to the nearest Chapters that will be open until midnight Friday night and I'm going, no matter what. I may have finagled a friend or two into going with me, but even if not, I'm going. And I've already prebooked hubby to do kid duty all day Saturday so I can read in peace!

I'm going by myself. It is my last chance! I've never been to one of the midnight releases and there will never be another one! I have to go! I thought about getting a babysitter and dragging my husband along, but...he'd probably ruin it for me making fun of me and all the other freak fans. And he has been told he is on kid duty on Saturday too. Hehe!

I bought Davy a beautiful chessboard from India right before our first anniversary. I knew that he liked to play and figured he could teach me. I STILL don't know how to play, all these years later. It's a nice conversation piece on the shelf in the living room, though. :)

The good this is that now Davy is starting to teach Girly to play, so at least it's getting used.

Yeah, we've been saying we should learn to play for years. I don't know why we haven't done it. Actually learning the basic moves wasn't hard. Playing the game is hard. Brad beat the pants off me last night. Perhaps he is smarter than me. He can definately think more moves ahead than I can. Strategy is not going to be my strong suit.

I like game with some luck thrown in. There is NO luck involve in chess. Darn.

I am excited too! and, I have Saturday night plans, so it better read quickly!

Enjoy chess. Dh and I are evenly matched on Scrabble and Cribbage, so those are the two games we play most often.
