I'm at my parents' house in Kansas now and finally have some regular internet access.
We had a pretty good week at the lake with Brad's family. Brad's dad had an attack of diverticulitis that landed him in the hospital for five days, so that wasn't a lot of fun. For about 24 hours we thought he might have to have an emergency colostomy. That was upsetting. But he pulled through and while he will have to have surgury eventually it isn't imminent and he is home and feeling much better.
The girls had a blast at the lake. They swam and tubed and wake surfed with their uncle. They rode the seadoo with there daddy a lot. We took them to one of the springs that feeds into the lake and let them try to get into the ice cold water. Luci actually swam down from the entrance to the spring into the lake twice. We all thought she was crazy and her lips and chin turned blue the second time she did it. I told her at that point she couldn't go again, even though she wanted to. It was very, very hot, close to 100 every day we were there, so we didn't spend much time doing anything that didn't involve being in the water frequently or in air conditioning. Long, leisurely boat rides, one of my favorite things to do, were out of the question. It was just too dang hot.
Now I'm at my parents' house, as I said. We will be here until a week from Monday. Both my sisters are here with their kids so it is zoo, as usual. But fun. Seven kids; two six year olds, two five year olds, two four year olds, a three year old, and a four month old baby. It gets loud, but they all seem to be having a great time.
Hope all is well in LJ land!
