After reading a version of the Cinderella story that ended with something like "All of Cinderella's dreams had come true. She was marrying the young man she loved..."

...Zoe wrinkled her nose and asked in a disbelieving voice. "That's it? That's all? All her dreams were to get married?!"

I love that girl.

I'm getting John that for Christmas, if you read the review its about Princes whose only goal isn't to settle down and marry a princess. And the few girls in the book are said to be capable and independent. I saw the read up on that book a while back and knew we needed it. I always hated how the Disney movies ended like that and that was the end of the story lol.

What a very cool book!

I'm always on the lookout for books that don't have sappy fairy tale endings. However, they sappy fairy tale endings are Maria's favorites. It just seems to be BORN in some of us girls I think. She is already dressing up as a bride and dreaming of her own wedding. Totally from the fairy tale aspect and dressing up Princess aspect. She shows no interest whatsoever in actual boys. Zoe shows more actual crush-like interest in boys. I don't worry about it much thought with that attitude! She obviously doesn't think they are the be all and end all of life right now!

I don't think it has anything to do with me. Maria's favorite stories are typically fairy tales that end with marriage and happily ever after. It is all she wants to read and all she plays. I think both Maria and Zoe were born this way.

Don't know if it is good or bad either way, but I can't take the credit, I'm pretty sure! I hope I'm just encouraging them to be who they are!
