Calling all crafty people!

Ok, I'm panicking.
Luci's ears/horns and tail and yellow leggings I ordered for her giraffe costume still have not come. I don't think I can wait for the mail to come tomorrow. I think I'm just gonna have to spend the day making a costume. I need help. Tell me if you have better, quick and simple NO SEW ideas than these.
For ears: attach brown felt ears to a headband.
For horns: put her hair up in ponytails on top of her head and wrap them in brown yarn
For body: get white/off white/tan pants or leggings and shirt and put brown spots on them with sponges and fabric paint
For tail: this is where I get stuck. I have no idea how to do this. some kind of cloth tube or something with a brown yarn tassel attached, pinned to the pants? Any suggestions for how to make this? Quickly, easily, and very little sewing?
I'm so mad that the stuff didn't come yesterday. I thought I ordered it in time. All I would have had to do is the spots on the yellow clothes. I couldn't find yellow pants in a store ANYWHERE. So I'm thinking a tan or creme or white will have to do. I know I can find white leggings several places. Any other ideas? Anything simpler? I know I have some crafty people on my list. Help me out, oh crafters!
ETA: What about a thick piece of rope for the tail with a brown yarn tassel at the end? Think that would work?

Date: 2008-06-30 02:17 am (UTC)This is kinda a wild and crazy desperation idea, but what about body paint? You could paint her legs...

Date: 2008-06-30 02:31 am (UTC)I like the body paint idea, but the way.
But I also think that you can dye the clothes yellow in a pretty quick order.
White shirt, white leggings, batiking dye, easy peasy. Brown felt spots (you can cut out a few at a time) ironed on to the clothes with fusion webbing...done. Love the tassle idea for the tail, and we have those. The brown yarn over panytails idea is a great one, too. I'd put some kind of pomade in her hair before wrapping, too, to make it thicken up and stick together. I have that sort of thing if you want to borrow it.
When does this need to be done?

I think you'll have time to dye them. I think it would be awfully cute! We also have yellow t-shirts for 2.99.
I think yellow when I think of cartoony style giraffes...tan when I think of real ones.
Let me stew on this some.
