This quote just seems so appropriate for my thoughts today. Thank you, erikaerin.

It is appropriate because yesterday my bosom friend, Brooke (librissimma), gave birth to a healthy baby boy. A bit early, but all seems to have gone well. And I'm easily as thrilled about this birth as I have ever been about the births of my sisters' children. Brooke is a forever a part of my family, a sister of the heart. And her little Piglet will be a nephew of my heart. I just wish I could go and see them right now.

I love you, Brookey and I'm so happy for you!!

I JUST got off the phone with her and they are indeed doing well! The baby is small, 5lbs 6oz, but long for being early, 19 inches, so he is long and skinny. She seems very contented with how things went and how they are going now. They are hoping to leave the hospital tomorrow, depending on the baby's weight and how well he is nursing, I think.
