Zoe's first gymnastics meet was today. It was a small meet and it was low key and it was perfect for a first time competing. She did really well. The best part was that even though she totally messed up the vault, her best event, and I fully expected that would be the end of it for her, she screwed up her courage and marched right over to the next event, bars, with her team and placed first on that one. Heh. So much for worrying about her giving up. It was truly fun to watch. I'm proud of my girl.

This is her floor routine. She finished too early and thought she'd screwed this one up too as you can tell by her attitude at the end, but then ended up placing second. Silly girl.

That's my girls. Now I need some video of Luci at taekwondo. She will be testing for yellow belt soon, so hopefully I can get that on video.

I know next to nothing about gymnastics, but it looks really good to me! Good for her for going on after messing up--that can be the hardest thing.

I would love to see Luci at taekwondo as well. Obviously, I can give a better informed comment on that one. ;)

Ha! Yes, you would be the woman to ask about the martial arts, wouldn't you? How are you guys these days? Haven't "chatted" with you in ages!

We actually do taekwondo until black belt, at which point it here more complicated. I am by no definition of the word an expert. I do think it is fun, though. Dave and I are going for probationary black belt in about 3 weeks and black probably in April. Scary. Hannah will get to nidan (second degree black) maybe sometime next year.

In general, most everything is okay. Hannah doesn't like school much these days, except science, but we get through it with as little drama possible. Starting Teaching Textbooks for math and hope it helps.

We also lost Felix, one of our young cats. He had a virus mutate into something fatal. We went from diagnosis to death in just a few days.

Wow! She's doing great! I've always loved watching gymnastics. I wish I could get both of my kids into it since they both are so energetic and flexible and would be great with it.

Well, you know how Aaron and Zoe are...gymnastics is a great way to get to do the insane, body bending tricks...with a foam pit underneath you. That is why I gave into it for Zoe. She was going find bars to swing from and beams to do handstands on if I didn't anyway. Heh. These videos are so tame compared to what she tries at home though...I'm just waiting for the injuries. I can't believe she hasn't broken anything yet! I'm grateful that her coach harps as much as I do about safety.
