Zoe and Maria are currently wearing the same size. Zoe is taller, but thinner. Maria fills out shirts more and will probably need a bigger size on top before the next season is over, but for the moment they are in the same 6/6x size. Zoe leaning more toward the 5/6 and Maria more toward the 6/6x. So...I need to go shopping. The weather is supposed to warm up again this week and Mari's pathetic spring/summer wardrobe from last year, some which still fits, most of which didn't last the summer because I made the mistake of going cheap, isn't going to cut it for both of them. And spring stuff, capris, bermudas,t-shirts and dresses with short sleeves, is going out to make room for summer stuff in the stores. I don't buy summer stuff. Sleaveless, halters, spaghetti straps, short-shorts. Lots of backless stuff for girls this year. It is just...there isn't enough there. So I need to catch the spring sales before I can't find anymore appropriate clothing, which is what happened to me last year. I had to wait for fall stuff to come out to add to Mari's summer wardrobe last year. Why do they think little girls need to look like Bratz dolls in the summer? Even Gymborees shorts are so short this year I can't even imagine how it could be comfortable! And my girls play so hard in warm weather! Riding bikes, digging holes in the backyard, climbing trees, sliding and swinging. How can you do those things with no skin protection! Anyway, I must go shopping. I think I'll go while Zoe and Luci are at preschool. Mari will enjoy that. I'll let her pick out a few things. Then I'll need to take Zoe at some point too. I like shopping, but it is becoming more of a burden as the girls are developing their own tastes. Mari will still pretty much wear whatever I suggest, but she does have favorite outfits. Zoe will categorically refuse to wear anything slightly uncomfortable. She has the cutest pants from gymoboree with little dogs embroidered all over them. She won't wear them, ever, because she can feel the little dogs. I don't really blame her, but I've noticed that a lot of the "sylish" girls clothes out there are not made with an eye to comfort but an eye to...looking like 20-something street walkers actually. Ugh. Even Target, which is often a haven for me, is pretty bad this year. The summer stuff coming out is just...how can they charge anything for so little fabric?

Enough ranting. I'm going to go do my hair so we can shop...
